Sandy Gall's Afghan Appeal requested Motivation's expertise to develop wheelchair production suitable for Afghanistan . Afghanistan has been heavily mined and civilians are suffering the consequences of their devastating effects. Our work in Afghanistan focussed on developing a wheelchair suitable for the landmine survivors.
In the Sandy Gall workshop in Jalalabad Motivation trained a local team to produce of the three-wheeled steel frame wheelchair from materials available locally. A tricycle attachment was also developed, to assist wheelchair users to travel longer distances over rough terrain.
The workshop has been able to continue wheelchair production throughout the recent conflicts.
