The armed conflicts and natural disasters that have shaken Latin America in the recent past have left countless people with disabilities.

CADISCA was officially formed in August 1999, following Motivation's work in Nicaragua . The CADISCA team have all been trained by Motivation staff. Their main task is to contribute towards improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in Latin America , through professional training in the production of wheelchairs and the promotion of rehabilitation.

After receiving a request for a project, the CADISCA team will investigate the feasibility of a project and assess the most appropriate sources of funding. Together with local counterpart organisations, CADISCA will put together a proposal with realistic and achievable goals. Projects are then implemented which will help disabled people access their rights to social integration and sustainable livelihoods.

CADISCA have recently trained a team from Honduras in the successful establishment of wheelchair workshops and rehabilitation training.
