Four wheel chairs

In consultation with Leonard Cheshire International, Motivation worked at the Fatmawati Hospital in Jakarta to refurbish an existing wheelchair workshop in the hospital grounds. The Merdeka four-wheeled folding wheelchair was designed and produced. The workshop is staffed by a local team, many of whom are disabled themselves.

A permanent active rehabilitation course was built by Motivation on the grounds of the hospital to enable wheelchair users to learn the essential mobility skills that lead toward an independent lifestyle.

Motivation also introduced wheelchair tennis. As a result, the first Indonesian National Wheelchair Tennis Team was created and the workshop now produces tennis wheelchairs which are in demand all over Asia.
