The project at the University Hospital, Kuala
Lumpar, established a wheelchair workshop which produced a low-cost,
light weight, fully adjustable four-wheel wheelchair. It was designed
to meet the needs of active disabled people in Malaysia. Motivation
introduced wheelchair users to wheelchair tennis and helped establish
Malaysia's Wheelchair Tennis Association.
The team also set up education courses on spinal injuries awareness
for medical personnel throughout mainland Malaysia. We established Malaysia's
first ever Active Rehabilitation camp bringing together twenty-four
wheelchair users for a five day intensive training programme.
