UK Design
In 1994 Motivation
began to address the seating needs of children with cerebral palsy in Russia.
A design and therapy team developed the Moti, a highly adjustable seating
unit with lightweight chassis.
With funding from the Audi Foundation and the Virgin Healthcare Foundation
and collaboration with the manufacturer, JCM Seating Solutions, the chair
was developed for the UK market. The Moti Activ was born offering a new concept
in special seating for children with cerebral palsy in the UK.
The Moti Activ offers good support with minimal obstruction. The seating unit
can be detached from the chassis and mounted on to a variety of units, including
a snowboard! It can be used in three or four-wheel mode. In three-wheel mode
it can be used in an all terrain environment and in four-wheel mode it is
more manoeuvrable and therefore suitable for children with the ability to
self-propel.
The Moti Activ is designed as a flexible lifestyle product to appeal to both
children and parents.
