The problem
Across the world, disabled people are excluded from many aspects of daily life, from health and education services to job opportunities and community activities. As a result, many disabled people become isolated, unable to go to school or earn a living – which means they’re often seen as a burden on their families and communities.
Our solution
We work with disabled people, helping them to understand their rights and to speak out for their own inclusion. We also provide training and support to businesses, organisations and government agencies, giving them the understanding, knowledge and tools to include disabled people.
For example, businesses invite us in to their offices and factories to assess how accessible they are. Do they have appropriate ramps? Are their toilet facilities suitable for wheelchair users?
After our assessment, we provide recommendations and an action plan for making the working environment more accessible. We then give the businesses training and tools to help them put their accessibility plan into action.
The businesses we’ve worked with can then employ disabled people, confident that they can meet their new employees’ needs.
