Meet our training staff.

Chris Rushman

Chris RushmanChris qualified in Industrial Design in the UK and has been part of Motivation’s Design Team since 1996. Having worked for many years with local partners in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Tanzania, and Zambia, he has extensive experience in this field. Chris is involved in the continual design, development and trialing of motivations range of wheelchairs, cushions and postural support components.

Chris has been instrumental in the development of the TATCOT Wheelchair Technologists curriculum, teaching facilities and training of both staff and students. Chris is one of motivations specialist technical trainers, delivering wheelchair assembly, modification and production training courses. He has advised and contributed to technical content on the motivations basic and intermediate level training courses, and currently coordinates motivations training activities around the world. Chris has been to Haiti three times in the last year delivering basic and intermediate wheelchair provision training to a mix of partners and their national staff.

Sarah Frost

Sarah FrostSarah is a UK trained physiotherapist with a clinical background in rehabilitation. She has worked as a physiotherapist in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa over a period of nine years before joining Motivation in 1996. Sarah initially worked in Albania on wheelchair distribution and assisted in the preparation and running of a peer group training camp. From 1997-99 she worked in Sri Lanka training physiotherapy trainers in the management of people with spinal cord injury. From 2000-2002, she managed a multi- disciplinary team, establishing a supportive seating service in Sri Lanka. Sarah joined the training team in 2005 and has delivered training in many locations around the world. She is currently a consultant member of the World Health Organization Wheelchair Training Package team; developing the training packages to implement the ‘Guidelines on the provision of Manual Wheelchairs in less resourced settings’.
